Interesting Bible Facts - Healing Foods

  • In the book of Genesis, it is mentioned that King Nebuchadnezzar ordered his people to eat only fruits, vegetables, and water for a period of time to promote health and healing. CORRECTION: (thanks @jac_mel) It's actually not King Nebuchadnezzar who mentions eating fruits and vegetables for healthy living in the Bible, but rather it's Daniel who requests to eat only vegetables and water. This account is found in the Book of Daniel, specifically Daniel 1:8-16. Daniel, along with his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, were among the young men taken to serve in Nebuchadnezzar's palace. When offered the king's food and wine, Daniel requested that they be given vegetables (in some translations, "pulses") and water instead, as a way to avoid defiling themselves with the royal food and wine. After a trial period of ten days, Daniel and his friends looked healthier and better nourished than the young men who had been eating the royal food, leading to them being allowed to continue with their diet.

  • The Bible also mentions the healing properties of honey, with references to it being used as a remedy for wounds and sore throats.

  • Olive oil is another healing food mentioned in the Bible, known for its various health benefits such as promoting heart health and reducing inflammation.

Healing from the Inside Out: Dr. Erik Robbins' Path to Natural Wellness

I recently had an insightful chat with holistic chiropractor Dr. Erik Robbins. His journey into natural healing started with witnessing his mother's health struggles and her shift towards natural remedies.

He was inspired to explore beyond conventional medicine, which often prioritizes prescriptions over understanding illness root causes. Dr. Robbins' revelation is about the interconnectedness of our health and the natural world.

His epiphany - that true healing means treating the whole person (mind, body and spirit) rather than just symptoms - grew from his and his mother's experiences.

As he delved deeper into holistic practices like chiropractic care, nutritional advice and emotional wellbeing technologies, he discovered the profound impact of gut health. In this uplifting talk, we discuss insights into the importance of the gut, the power of beliefs and emotions in healing, and the necessity of a holistic approach to health.

Bible Message -  Ezekiel 47:12

Ezekiel 47:12 ESV (Click Here)

In the profound wisdom of Ezekiel 47:12, we are offered a glimpse into God's magnificent design for our world and our lives. This verse is a divine assurance, a reminder of the endless provision and healing offered to us by the Almighty, flowing directly from His sanctuary. It speaks to a world where sustenance and restoration are in perpetual abundance, symbolizing the unwavering care of our Creator.

Imagine, if you will, trees flourishing by the riverside, their roots stretching deep into the holy waters emanating from God's temple. Each month, they yield new fruit, their leaves vibrant and enduring. This is no mere agricultural miracle; it is a testament to the spiritual nourishment and healing God provides to all who seek Him. In these trees, we see a reflection of the spiritual life that is nurtured by closeness to the divine, a life that, despite external conditions, thrives and produces goodness.

The river, sourced from the sanctuary, symbolizes the Holy Spirit, a wellspring of life that flows into us, offering refreshment and vitality to every part of our being. The trees, with their unceasing fruit and healing leaves, represent believers who, rooted in faith, draw their strength from this living water. They are a model for us, showing how to live a life that feeds and heals, not just ourselves, but those around us.

This vision calls us to a higher purpose: to be like these treesโ€”strong, giving, and healing. We are reminded that our spiritual nourishment comes not from worldly sources but from our connection to the divine. It challenges us to ask: Are we planted by God's life-giving waters? Do our lives bear fruit that feeds others and leaves that bring healing?

Let this verse be a reminder and a calling. As followers of Christ, let us deepen our roots in His teachings and love, becoming sources of sustenance and restoration in a world thirsty for hope and healing. Just as the sanctuary's river transforms the wilderness into a garden of abundance, so can our lives, infused with God's spirit, transform the world around us.

Amen!
